Yrttiaitta Saarento makes products from wild berries and wild herbs, and hosts events for small groups in country-side setting in Ii, Finland.
Saarento is an over 140 year old homestead, where you can find the Saarento Stall. It has been transformed into an event space, and up to 10 guests can fit around its big log table. The stall is available for hire from May until August.
On the corner of the estate you can find a space for a campfire LAAVU that can fit 8 people. It can be used all year round.
The food for both Saarento Stall and the campfire LAAVU we mainly use local produce that is in-season to create uncomplicated dishes, that heavily feature wild herbs harvested nearby.
Yrttiaitta uses ingredients found in the nearby forests, which are combined in an innovative way. Standard products are Lingonberry and spruce sprout jam, Nettle seed mustard, Blueberry and willowherb jam, Saarento’s chilli chutney, Spruce sprout drink, Wild Salt , and Tam sugar. Lingonberry and spruce sprout Glogg is a seasonal product.
